Thierry Henry Refutes Reports of Becoming Belgium National Team Coach
Amidst recent speculations, Thierry Henry has denied the reports that he is being considered to become the new head coach of the Belgian national team.
Since head coach Roberto Martinez has yet to sign a contract extension with the Belgian national team, there have been numerous reports speculating on who would succeed Martinez. Many believe that Thierry Henry is the favourite for the job and that a decision might soon be made.
However, Thierry Henry has denied the reports by stating that:
- He has not been contacted by the Belgian Football Assocation
- He is not interested in taking up the job, as he is in the process of finishing his coaching badge and is looking to build his experience in the coaching world
- He desires to have the right experience in order to take on a role like the Belgium national team coach
Despite the rumors, Roberto Martinez is still the head coach of the Belgian national team and his future is still in discussion with the FA. Martinez has already lead the team to a third-place finish in the 2018 World Cup and is favourite to continue being the head coach.
In the meantime, Thierry Henry will continue to further his coaching development and should more information be released on the matter, SportsSPACE will keep its readers updated.
