Carlo Ancelotti Answers Questions on Transfer of Jude Bellingham
Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has addressed the signing of Jude Bellingham this summer, following the announcement of the deal last week. The 17-year-old English midfielder swapped Birmingham City for Goodison Park, with his transfer fee reportedly reaching £25 million. Ancelotti spoke to the media about the move and how he hopes it can be a positive addition to the team.
The Fee
When asked about the seemingly high transfer fee, Ancelotti was quick to defend the sum. He said:
- “I think that if you see the transfer market today, you could see that this kind of investment is normal.”
- “It is in line with the market and I think this is a good investment for us.”
Bellingham’s Potential
The manager went on to speak about the potential of the young player. Ancelotti said:
- “He is a young English player with a lot of talent – there is no doubt about that.”
- “He is really motivated and he can be a good asset for us in the next few years.”
A Bright Future at Everton
Despite being just 17, Bellingham is already being tipped to have a huge future in the game. Ancelotti believes his new acquisition has all the attributes to become a great player, but emphasised the importance of patience. He concluded:
- “He needs to take time to develop but I am very confident he will become a great addition to this team.”
